About Our Fafda
Fafda is a traditional Gujarati snack made from a gram-flour (besan) dough seasoned with ajwain (carom seeds), pressed by hand into long, thin strips and fried until crisp. In Gujarat it is a breakfast and tea-time staple, and on Dussehra fafda with hot jalebi is a much-loved tradition.
At Kathiyawadi Kitchen, Fafda is one of our two signature items, made fresh every morning alongside Vanela Gathiya. Enjoy it the classic way with chutney and sambharo, at a table in our east Winnipeg restaurant or packed for takeout — a proper Gujarati breakfast in Winnipeg.
